Since 1992, Clif Bar has produced on-the-go bars and snacks, providing balanced energy to fuel adventures. With organic and sustainably-sourced ingredients making up their products, Clif Bar demonstrates a commitment to the health of people and the planet. Beyond the product line, Clif Bar strives to create a better world through initiatives including the “Bars for Good” donation program, which encourages employees to donate up to 2,000 Clif bars each year to nonprofits of their choice, and the Re-Ternship program, which pays for older Clif Bar employees on the brink of retirement to intern with a nonprofit organization for up to nine months, helping facilitate the entrance into a nonprofit role.
In 2008, Clif Bar created the In Good Company alliance, bringing values-driven businesses together for a shared purpose. Through this program, representatives from member organizations team up for a week at a time, volunteering on food, housing, and environmental restoration projects. Additionally, Clif Bar runs an internal volunteer program for its team members, known as Clif Corps. In 2016 alone, 11,400 hours of service were donated through the Clif Corps program.
