Harvest Meat Company was founded in 1989 by Frank Leavy and his sons. Their mission is to provide small, independent food companies with the opportunity to be self-distributors and to have access to national and regional protein brands in the beef, pork, poultry and seafood categories. Today, the company is proud to have 600 individuals on the Harvest Family team, servicing 6,000 retail, foodservice, distribution and manufacturing customers across the country.
The employees of Harvest Meat Company are passionate about giving back in their local communities. In collaboration with Denver Urban Gardens, the Harvest Meat Company team in Denver, Colo. has participated in three garden builds. Alongside a team of Sprouts Farmers Market volunteers, this group has built three thriving school gardens, including a special Remembrance Garden for a beloved Harvest employee, complete with a small apple orchard.
