Privacy Policy
Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. (together with its affiliates, “Sprouts,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) developed this Privacy Policy as an extension of our commitment to combine the highest-quality products and services with the highest level of integrity in dealing with our valued customers, and the companies, businesses, and organizations they represent. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected within our stores, through our websites and mobile applications, and anywhere else we interact with you. By shopping at our stores, using any of our websites, mobile applications, or sharing your information with us, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Collection of Information.
Our collection of information depends on how you interact with us and our products and services which may be through our websites, social media pages, online and mobiles services, applications and advertisements and other practices. Some of the information we collect includes personal information that can be used to identify you (“Personal Information”). The Personal Information we collect may include, without limitation, your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, health and dietary information, and financial information (e.g., your credit card number). We retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the business purpose for which we collect it.
Information You Provide to Us. You may provide Personal Information to us from time to time for a variety of interactions including through transactions such as purchasing gift cards, catering services, or other products or services; if you wish to receive or redeem mobile Sprouts coupons, newsletters, or other information from Sprouts; when you sign up for a Sprouts account; when you respond to surveys or other questionnaires; when you submit a job application; when you participate in any sweepstakes or promotions; when you communicate with Sprouts. The types of personal information you provide differs based on how you choose to interact with us, but may include your name, email address, zip code, and telephone number, personal preferences, purchase and ordering information, information necessary to carry out your transaction, information related to job history and applications.
- Payment Information You Provide. All credit or debit card information you provide is processed directly by our third-party payment processor. Sprouts does not directly access, handle, or store your credit or debit card information. To perform a transaction, you may need to provide your card type, card number, expiration date, security code, and billing address. All credit or debit card transactions are subject to the approval of the card issuer. We will maintain a record of your transactions with us and your purchase information may be matched with other information you provide in other contexts, such as via your Sprouts account.
Account Activity. If you use our website or app while signed into your Sprouts account, or if you make purchases at a Sprouts Store or through the website or app using a payment card that you have used in connection with your Sprouts account, we will collect information on how you use your Sprouts account and the services we offer, as well as information about your purchases. For example, we will collect coupons clipped, catering order history, recipes saved, and transaction data (i.e., purchase history).
IP Addresses and Related Data. We use technology that automatically may collect data from your devices (computer, mobile phone, tablets, etc.) when you visit our website or use our mobile app. This information could include your IP address assigned, your mobile device ID numbers and identifiers, your browsing and click history, your geolocation, as well as information about how you navigate and use our website or mobile app most.
Location Information. When permissible, you may provide your approximate geographic location information such as your zip code or address when locating stores or requesting other location-related services we may provide. You may provide a more precise location when prompted for elevated location-related functionality. This includes both geographical location information that you provide (e.g., when you enter your zip code or physical address) and geographical location information collected by device-based location services (including GPS data).
Cookies. We use cookies to track website use and to facilitate and enhance the user experience. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user’s web browser on the hard drive of a user’s computer. Cookies can “remember” what information a user accesses on a website to simplify subsequent interactions with that website by the same user, or can use that information to streamline the user’s transactions on related websites. The cookies that Sprouts uses on the website may be “session” Cookies that are erased when you leave the website or may be “persistent” Cookies that remain on your computer’s hard drive after you leave the website and may track you over time and across third-party websites. Our website may use both cookies that we implement and cookies implemented by our suppliers and other third parties. We use cookies to improve our websites, customize your user experience, speed up searches, recognize when you return to our website, analytics, and advertising purposes. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, though you may refuse to accept cookies by activating appropriate settings on your browser. If you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain features of our website.
A. Do Not Track Requests. Our suppliers may use cookies and other tracking technologies to track website visitors over time and across the Internet to understand how you get to our website. Due to this automatic collection of data using cookies, we do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals of web browsers.
B. Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics on our websites to collect usage data, to analyze how users use the websites and to provide advertisements to you on other websites. Google sets and reads cookies to collect this data and your web browser will automatically send data collected by those cookies to Google. Google uses this data to provide us with reports that we will use to improve the website’s structure and content. For more information about how to opt out of having your information used by Google Analytics, follow the instructions to download and install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-On for each web browser you use. Using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-On will not prevent Sprouts from using other analytics tools and will not prevent data from being sent to the website itself or to Google. You may disable cookies as discussed above, however, certain features may not work for you if you delete or disable cookies.
Third Parties. Third Parties such as the service providers and suppliers that we use may collect information about your in-store visit, use of the mobile app, and your visits to our websites and other websites. You may be able to access certain information related to third parties via hyperlinks, banner ads, or “click–throughs” on our website or mobile application, regarding the goods or services of third parties. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third party websites or applications or to any information collected at such other websites or applications. Sprouts is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites and applications and you understand and agree that those privacy practices may be significantly different than those stated in this Privacy Policy.
A. Social Media. You may connect and share information with various social media platform. We may share information that you provide us or that we may collect with those platforms and that information will be subject to their privacy policies. We may also use the advertising services and networks offered by those social media platforms to deliver advertising content. Use of these services requires social media platforms to implement cookies or pixel tags to deliver ads to you while you are logged into the platform. If you do not wish a social media platform to collect information relating to you via the website, we suggest that you: (a) hide social media platform plug-ins using an ad blocker; (b) always log off completely from the social media platform before visiting other websites and delete all related cookies; and, (c) where the option made available by the social media platform, disable the advertising services and networks operated by that platform.
B. Embedded Content. We may incorporate content, including feeds scripts embedded in our code as well as visible content (for example, videos), provided by third parties. In some cases, those third parties collect data about how you interact with their content. For example, YouTube may collect or otherwise have access to usage data on videos embedded on our website as described in YouTube’s Privacy Policy.
C. Advertising and Tracking Technologies. From time to time, we may utilize advertising networks, personalized advertising, remarketing, retargeting and related advertising services that are managed and provided by third-party advertising servers, advertising agencies, technology vendors, and research firms, including advertising retargeting services provided by Facebook (sometimes referred to the Facebook “tracking pixel”) and Google AdWords. These services collect information about your visits to and interactions with the Services and other websites and will use that information to target advertisements for goods and services. These targeted advertisements may appear on our website or other websites. Advertising networks often gather data about consumers who view advertisements to make inferences about a consumer’s interests and preferences, which enables their computers to deliver advertisements directly targeted to the consumer’s specific interests. To opt out of remarketing advertising provided through Google, to customize your ad preferences, or to limit Google’s collection or use this information, visit Google’s Safety Center and Google’s Ad Settings and follow Google’s personalized ad opt-out instructions. Opting out will not affect your use of the Website. To change your preferences with respect to certain online ads and to obtain more information about third-party ad networks and online behavioral advertising, please visit the National Advertising Initiative Consumer opt-out page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices or the Digital Advertising Alliance Self-Regulatory Program at http://www.aboutads.info. Please remember that changing your settings with individual browsers or ad networks will not necessarily carry over to other browsers or ad networks. As a result, depending on the opt-outs you request, you may still see our ads from time to time.
2. Use and Disclosure of Collected Information.
Sprouts does not use, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your information except as stated in this Privacy Policy or as permitted by applicable law.
Improvement of Services. We may use information we collect to analyze, develop, and improve the content, functionality, materials, products, and services that we make available through our website, mobile application, or Sprouts stores.
Transactional Purposes. We may use your information to process your orders, purchases, and registrations, and to communicate information related to your Sprouts account or purchases and to provide customer service in general.
Marketing Purposes. We may use your information to communicate promotional offers, discounts, coupons, sweepstakes, new products and services, and other special offers we determine may be relevant to you based on browsing or purchasing history.
Analytical Purposes. Sprouts may use this information to generate statistical information, to monitor and analyze website, mobile app, and in store traffic and usage patterns.
Legal Rights and Security. We may use and disclose information to third parties: (a) in connection with the sale, purchase, merger or reorganization of Sprouts, in which case all information owned by or in the control of Sprouts may be transferred or sold to the successor of the transaction and that successor will be bound by this Privacy Policy as it applies to that information; (b) to protect the rights, property or safety of Sprouts or other persons, or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process served on Sprouts (including by disclosing information we collect to law enforcement), in each case to the extent permitted by law; and (c) if we believe doing so is necessary, to protect our rights or the rights of others, including disclosing information necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action in the event of a violation of our contracts, terms, or policies. We may also use the information we collect to monitor and prevent fraud, to investigate complaints and violations of our policies.
3. Protecting Collected Information.
The security of your Personal Information is important to Sprouts. Sprouts does not guarantee that loss, misuse, or alteration of information we collect will not occur, but we have reasonable and appropriate security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control. If you have any questions about the security of your Personal Information, you can send Sprouts an email at [email protected] The storage and communication of information can never be completely secure, Sprouts expressly disclaims any promise or representation, express or implied, as to the security of information we collect. If you become aware of any breach of security with respect to Sprouts or this Privacy Policy, please notify us immediately at [email protected] or using our Contact Us form. If our security system is breached, we will notify you of the breach only if and to the extent required under applicable law. Such notification may be in the form of an email, letter, or telephone call or text.
4. Children’s Privacy.
Sprouts does not direct communication to children under the age of thirteen (13) and we do not knowingly collect or use information from children under the age of thirteen (13). Please contact us if you believe we have collected personal information about a child without consent from their parent or guardian and we will take necessary steps to remove that information from our system.
5. Access from Outside of the United States.
If you are accessing our website or mobile application from outside the United States, please be aware that information may be collected and may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States (where our and our suppliers’ servers and databases are located and operated). The data protection and related laws and regulations of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in the country from which you are accessing our website or mobile application.
6. Nevada Consumer Privacy Rights.
If you are a Nevada resident, under Nevada law, you may request that we refrain from sale of your personal information to an entity, for the entity to further sell the information to additional organizations or persons. We do not sell your personal information pursuant to Nevada law. We will reply to any request within sixty (60) days of receipt. We may extend this request for not more than thirty (30) days if we determine the extension is reasonably necessary, and in which case we will notify you of our intent to invoke the extension.
7. California Consumer Privacy Rights.
If you are a California resident, you have certain California privacy rights. This section describes those rights and how you can exercise them.
A. Shine the Light. As provided under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, we provide our customers with the ability to “opt out” of having their Personal Information shared with affiliated and non-affiliated third parties for their direct marketing purposes. You may opt-out of having your Personal Information shared with affiliated and non-affiliated third parties for their direct marketing purposes in by contacting Sprouts at [email protected].
B. Rights Under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”), California residents have the following rights and Sprouts processes the Personal Information of California consumers in the following ways:

C. CCPA Rights. Under the CCPA, California consumers have the following rights (“Rights”) listed below. Your Right to Access and Right to Deletion are not absolute and are subject to certain exceptions.

- the categories of sources from which Personal Information is collected;
- the business or commercial purpose for the information collection;
- the categories of third parties with whom we have shared Personal Information, and the specific pieces of Personal Information we hold about an individual;
- The categories of Personal Information that we have sold in the preceding twelve (12) months, and for each category identified, the categories of third parties to whom it sold that particular category of Personal Information;
- The categories of Personal Information that we disclosed for a business purpose in the preceding twelve (12) months, and for each category identified, the categories of third parties to whom it disclosed that particular category of Personal Information.
- Right to Know: California consumers have the right to request in writing the following information from a business:
To protect the rights of others and your security, we may not be able to provide you all of the Personal Information that that we may have on you. See Section D below for more information.

- Right to Delete: California consumers have the right to have their Personal Information deleted, unless the Personal Information is necessary for the business or service provider to:
- complete a transaction for which the Personal Information was collected, provide a good or service requested by the consumer or otherwise perform a contract between the business and the consumer;
- detect security incidents;
- protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent or illegal activity (or prosecute those responsible);
- debug to identify and repair functionality errors;
- exercise or ensure the right of another to exercise free speech or another legal right;
- comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act, which compels the production of or access to electronic communication information or electronic device information with a search warrant;
- engage in research in the public interest (if the consumer has provided informed consent);
- to enable solely internal uses aligned with the consumer’s expectations given their relationship with the business; o comply with a legal obligation;
- otherwise use the information internally in a lawful manner compatible with the context in which the consumer provided it.
- Right to Delete: California consumers have the right to have their Personal Information deleted, unless the Personal Information is necessary for the business or service provider to:
In the event we deny a deletion request based on one or more of the above exceptions, we will: (i) Inform you of the basis for the denial, including any conflict with federal or state law, or exception to the CCPA, unless prohibited from doing so by law; (ii) Delete the Personal Information that is not subject to the exception; and (iii) Not use the Personal Information retained for any other purpose than provided for by that exception(s).

D. Exercising your California Privacy Rights. California residents can exercise their privacy rights by using our CCPA Request Form, or by calling us toll-free at 888-577-7688 ext. 2. When a request is made, we may verify your identity to protect your privacy and security. Thus, upon receiving your request we will take measures to verify that the request is legitimate. These verification efforts may require additional information from you which may include information you have provided us in the past. For instance, if you have previously provided your name to us, we may ask you for other information (e.g., last four digits of your credit card, email address, phone number) so that we can match the new information you provide with the information we have. We may also use other verification methods as the circumstances dictate. If through reasonable efforts we are unable to verify your request to a reasonable degree of certainty, we will notify you, and may be unable to effectuate your request. We will confirm receipt of your requests to know and to delete your information within ten (10) business days. This confirmation will include a description of our verification process and when you can expect a response, or may indicate itself whether the request has already been granted or denied. We will respond to written rights requests within forty-five (45) days following receipt at the e–mail, calling us at our toll free number, or using our CCPA Request Form above. Please note that we are only required to respond to each customer twice per calendar year. We do not discriminate against California residents who exercise any of their rights described in this Privacy Policy.
E. Using an Authorized Agent. To assert your rights via an Authorized Agent (the “Agent”) under the CCPA, we require that your Agent provide a valid power of attorney asserting their right to act on your behalf, which satisfies the requirements of California Probate Code Sections 4121 to 4130. Please note that if a power of attorney cannot be provided, we reserve our rights under the CCPA Final Regulations at Section 999.326(a) to request additional information such as: (i) confirmation you have provided the Authorized Agent to act on your behalf; (ii) verification of your identity with us; and (iii) direct confirmation from you that the entity seeking to assert your CCPA rights is an Authorized Agent acting with your permission. Once verified, and Agent may make a request on your behalf by using our CCPA Request Form, or by calling us toll-free at 888-577-7688 ext. 2.
F. Notice of Financial Incentive. We offer our customers a rewards program that provides certain perks, such as rewards, promotions, and exclusive offers (the “Rewards Programs”). Because our Rewards Program involves the collection of personal information, it might be interpreted as a “financial incentive” program under California law. The value of your personal information to us is related to the value of the free or discounted products or services that you obtain when you use the Rewards Program. This value is based on the expense related to offering those free or discounted products or services. You may withdraw from participating in the Rewards Program at any time by contacting customer service at [email protected]
8. Changes to Our Privacy Policy.
If we decide to change our Privacy Policy in whole or in part, we will inform you by posting a notice on our websites, as applicable. Those changes will go into effect on the effective date posted in the notice and at the end of the revised Privacy Policy. The new policy will apply to all current and past users of our websites and will replace any prior policies that are inconsistent. Your continued use of our websites or other services constitutes your acceptance of the practices described in the revised Privacy Policy.
