To celebrate #TeamSprouts, we’re highlighting the first-quarter 2020 Top Regional Clerk for the North San Diego region – Burton Quartermus, courtesy clerk at store #210 – Riverside, Calif.
Burt joined Sprouts in 2017 shortly after being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. During his time with the company, he has held several positions, working as a Utility Clerk and Courtesy Clerk. Burt believes working at Sprouts has not only kept him busy after his retirement, but alleviated all of his pain he was experiencing as a result of his syndrome. “Working at Sprouts has been like a magic spell, taking all of my pain away,” Burt said.
Burt shows up ready to work every day with a smile on his face and provides the best service to his customers. Although Burt is hearing impaired, it does not stop him from working his hardest and ensuring each customer is taken care of. He always completes his tasks and is eager to learn more throughout the store.
When COVID-19 hit, Burt stepped up and ensured sanitation was his top priority. He makes sure every cart, basket and counter is sanitized and ready for each customer. He has persevered through these challenging times and has not skipped a beat. “Burt gets along great with the team and is extremely well-known throughout the community. He truly sets the example for what Sprouts stands for… family,” Store Manager Christen Allen said.
