The Republic of Tea, leading purveyor of premium teas and herbs, and the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation, are pleased to announce their continued partnership to support school garden programs through the launch of their limited edition Red Apple Harvest Herb Tea, in which The Republic of Tea will donate $1 to the Foundation for each tin sold. The exclusive tea will be available on September 15 at more than 350 Sprouts locations nationwide.
The Republic of Tea has guaranteed a minimum donation of $30,000 as a part of this initiative, and the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation will use the funds to support multiple school garden partners, including the Garden School Foundation at 24th Street Elementary School in Los Angeles. Last year, team members from The Republic of Tea and Sprouts volunteered side-by-side in San Francisco and Philadelphia, where they brought their commitment to this program to life by building garden beds and making site improvements to school and community gardens supported by the Foundation.
“Sprouts’ has long believed that good food should not only make us feel good, it should have a positive effect on your health and the planet. We’re thrilled to be partnering with The Republic of Tea to raise funds and awareness for hands-on youth education programs in a time when COVID-19 has dramatically changed the way students learn,” said Lyndsey Waugh, executive director of the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation. “Outdoor school gardening programs provide children with an environment and tools to understand where healthy food comes from and can positively reinforce what students are learning across STEM subjects.”
Red Apple Harvest Herb Tea, which retails for $7.99/tin, is inspired by fresh crops of apples and warming spices, like cinnamon and cloves. This delightful caffeine-free herbal blend infuses tangy, premium Nigerian hibiscus flowers with a bounty of fruit. Each recyclable tin holds 36 round, gluten-free, unbleached tea bags free of tags, strings or staples.
“The Republic of Tea is honored to offer this perfectly delicious herb tea for the autumn season to support the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation,” said Kristina Tucker, Minister of Enlightenment and Commerce at The Republic of Tea. “We are inspired by the mission of educating children about healthy food and helping to provide them with enriching experiences in community gardens across the country.”
Sprouts Farmers Market covers 100% of the Foundation’s operations, so shoppers are confident that the entirety of each donation will support the Foundation’s youth nutrition education programs nationwide. To find a store near you, visit sprouts.com/stores.
