The first-ever Growing School Gardens Summit, hosted by the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation, in partnership with Life Lab and the School Garden Support Organization (SGSO) Network, has sold out with 400 attendees, set to gather in Denver this April. The event, which will span across four days, will include field trips, networking sessions, and more than 50 workshops on topics such as school garden design, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) in the garden, creating community partnerships and more. To celebrate school gardening programs across the country, the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation will host the first-ever, virtual school gardens tour on April 27th. This 30-minute event will take viewers from Hawai’i to Washington, D.C., highlighting seven school gardens along the way. Throughout the holiday season, Sprouts shoppers can purchase pre-packed “Grab ‘N' Give” bags filled with pantry staples or personal care items at a 10% or higher discount that Sprouts will donate on their behalf to a local food bank. Donation bags are approximately $10 and include canned food, nonperishable groceries and body care products. Last year, Sprouts shoppers donated more than 3 million meals to families in need!
